Our member bar, the Carver Room is the buzzing heart of the Vancouver Rowing Club—a place to sip, savour, and settle in with great company. From the moment you walk in, there’s a sense of energy and familiarity that makes it easy to feel at home. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick drink or settling in for the evening, it’s a space where members naturally come together to connect, unwind, and enjoy everything the club has to offer.

It’s the place where the day’s stories are shared—celebrating a hard-fought winon the pitch, reliving a great row, or debating race tactics and strategy with crew mates. You’ll find a lively mix of conversation, laughter, and camaraderie at every table, with members from across the club coming together in one welcoming space. And when the sun is out, our “best-kept-secret” patio becomes the perfect escape—tucked away, relaxed, and offering one of the most enjoyable waterfront settings in the city.

The Carver Room is also where the club’s social life truly shines. With a full lineup of events throughout the year, there’s always something to look forward to. Test your knowledge at trivia night, bring your guitar and join in for music night, or enjoy a night of laughs at comedy night. Our fantastic staff keep things running smoothly and add to the warm, friendly atmosphere that makes the space so special. Whether you come for the events, the people, or just a great place to relax, the Carver Room is where the VRC community comes alive.

The Carver Room is open throughout the week, with extended hours on weekends to make the most of your time at the club:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday – Friday: 5:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Saturday: 1:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Sunday: 1:00pm – 9:00pm

You’ll find the Carver Room on the west side of the lower (seawall) level of the clubhouse. Just make your way toward the patio—and you’re there.

The Carver Room offers full bar service, with a wide selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options to suit every taste. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic favourite, something refreshing after a day on the water, or a drink to pair with your meal, our bar has you covered.

Carver Room Guidelines

If your section is planning a special event or expects higher-than-usual attendance in the Carver Room, please get in touch with Ben Kenton, our Hospitality Manager in advance so we can ensure appropriate staffing and service.

Members are welcome to bring up to four (4) guests into the Carver Room. All guests must be registered upon arrival. Use the posted QR code or Click Here to register your guests or sign them in using the guest book. 

The Carver Room closes at 10:00pm. The kitchen closes one hour prior to the Carver Room’s closing time. Last Call for the kitchen is 8:30 and Last Call for the Bar is 9:30.

As a reminder, all food and beverages consumed on-site must be purchased through the Club. Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Carver Room, Trophy Room, Harbour Room, or on any patios.

The Vancouver Rowing Club is a non-smoking facility. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the premises, including the clubhouse and docks.
