YACHTING MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

 
The Yachting Section of the Vancouver Rowing Club is currently accepting applications to their membership roster numbering in excess of 400 sailors and power boaters.

Members of the Vancouver Rowing Club's Yachting Section enjoy the following benefits:
  • Sheltered year round moorage in Coal Harbour for approximately 220 boats (subject to availability)
  • Club cruises traditionally held on Easter, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day and Thanksgiving long weekends
  • Year round sailboat racing series, highlighted by the VRC Summer Regatta
  • Active encouragement of participation in club racing for both experienced and novice captains and crew
  • Periodic pub nights and presentations on various boating related topics
  • Outstations located in Snug Cove, Ganges, Silva Bay, Otter Bay and Pender Harbour
  • Reciprocal privileges with over 90 yachting clubs located in British Columbia, NW United States and elsewhere in the world
  • Numerous social events including the Commodore's Ball, Sailpast and dock parties
  • Well equipped workshop, mast tower and mast room
  • Workout facilities

Current section bylaws require two VRC sponsors to accompany all applications.   For those applicants who require sponsorship, please feel free to contact our membership officer who can facilitate introductions during social functions and also arrange a tour of the Club.

Starting in July 2019 the section will be offering Spousal Membership.   To apply for spousal membership please complete the membership application form and submit to the Club Office.  Benefits of Spousal Membership include:
  • Shared member number
  • Shared club account for purchases in member bar or club office
  • Retained member number and slip assignment if spouse passes
  • Member pricing for events, educational courses, cruises, socials
  • Attendance at AGM (one vote per membership number, but both family members may attend)
  • Fob access to clubhouse and dock areas
  • Serve in a volunteer role in the Yachting Section
  • Either family member can access outstations/reciprocal moorage
What is expected from me as a member?
  • Participating in Club events and volunteering on a committee or the Yachting Executive are excellent ways to get to know the club, the section and of course to lend a hand
  • Members are required to adhere to the policies and procedures set out in the Club Constitution and BylawsVRC House Rules and the VRC Yachting Section constitution and Bylaws.
  • The VRC Yachting Section events and programs are organized 100% by volunteers.  On your application you will have an opportunity to expound on your special talents.   The main theme is to "get involved".
