Mark your calendars, polish your telltales, and start sharpening your excuses now—the VRC Summer Regatta is back!
Join us for a fantastic weekend of racing, socializing, and friendly competition on the waters of English Bay. Whether you're chasing silverware, looking to settle old scores on the racecourse, or simply hoping to spend a great weekend on the water with friends, the Summer Regatta has something for everyone.
The fun begins on Friday evening in the Carver Bar. Come down early, enjoy some regatta drink specials, catch up with fellow sailors, and begin the time-honoured tradition of talking up your boat's chances while questioning everyone else's. It's the perfect chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new competitors, and get the weekend started on the right tack.
On Saturday morning, competitors will gather for breakfast and the Skippers Meeting before heading out to English Bay for the first day of racing. After a full day on the water, everyone is invited back to the Club for the legendary Lobster Bash (tickets available shortly). Few things go together better than great racing, cold drinks, fresh lobster, and stories that get slightly faster and more dramatic with each retelling.
The competition continues on Sunday, with one final day of racing to determine who takes home the bragging rights for the year. Once the sails are down and the boats are tied up, join us in the Carver Room for the post-race celebrations. Raise a glass to the winners, congratulate your fellow competitors, and enjoy one last chance to relive the weekend's best moments.
Whether you're a seasoned racer, a casual cruiser looking to try something new, or simply a supporter who enjoys the social side of Club life, we encourage everyone to get involved. The Summer Regatta is one of the most enjoyable weekends of the boating season and a great reminder of what makes the Vancouver Rowing Club sailing community so special.
Good winds, good company, and just the right amount of friendly rivalry—we'll see you on the starting line!
In the meantime, we’re pleased to share some recent results from VARC—stay tuned for highlights and performances from our crews.
