Designed for first year rowers who have completed Learn-To-Row Levls 1 & 2, the Novice Program opens rowers to participating in a competetive environment as a member of the Vancouver Rowing Club.   The program begins each year in November and runs for one year.   Our goal is to produce well-rounded rowers, with both sweeping and sculling skills, leading towards competetive racing.   The racing seasons consist of rowing sweep 8's at head races in March and September to November, then both sweep and sculling spring races in the spring and summer.

We take a limited number of rowers in November and December from the Learn-To-Row program, as space permits.   As a novice rower, you are required to join VRC as a rowing member.   If you are interested in placing your neame on our waiting list, please contact the VRC Rowing Coordinator or by phone (604) 687-3414.

If you would like more information about the program, please congtact the coaches or visit us on the dock during practice times.
