ADULT - LEVEL 1

INTRODUCTION TO SWEEPING

Your very first strokes in rowing! In Level I you become part of a crew of eight, and are guided by your coxswain in the boat, and your instructor in a launch beside your crew. Level I introduces you to the fundamentals of our sport, and the rowing discipline of sweeping - rowing using one oar.

Following successful completion of Level I many participants choose to enroll in Level II.


SESSION DETAILS

This course is four weeks in lenght, twice per week on set day-pairs (Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, or Saturday/ Sunday) for eight classes total. All classes are 1.5 hours of instruction.The session is capped off with our famous Learn to Row Regatta, where we gather all crews who have learned with us during the month for more fun on the water, then a BBQ with some social deck time together.

SESSION FEE: $300.00 + GST ( includes RCA and Rowing BC Fees) for a total of $313.50

  2. View the 2018 Adult Class Calender ​​for the class start dates, the day-pairs nd timeslots that are avaible each month. plus the dates of each ,month-end regatta.
  3. Find the session (month, day-pair and timeslot) that wprks best with your schedule.
  4. Contact the Rowing Corrdinator to confirm that space is avaible in your choice of session. Email row@vancouverrowingclub.ca or call 604-687-3414.
  5. Follow the registration and payment instructions you'll receive from the Rowing Coordinator.
  6. Recieve an email registration confirmation and welcome package of information.
  7. You are ready to row!

The Vancouver Rowing Club's Rowing Section reserves the right to cancel any Learn-to-Row sessions due to a lack of student enrollment, or alter class plans at the last minute due to unsafe weather conditions.
