Make 2018 the year you

LEARN-TO-ROW

Welcome to the Learn-to-Row Program at the Vancouver Rowing Club. We invite you to experience our 30+ year tradition of introducing people like you to our sport! Become part of a community of rowers established here over a century ago, in 1886, the same year the city itself was formally founded.

Whether you are looking for the best way to spend time outside on water, meet new friends here in Vancouver, succeed in something challenging, or embrace a new sport for life, don’t wait any longer. Now is the time to discover the rower in you - with us!

ADULT LEVEL 1
INTRODUCTION TO SWEEPING

Your very first strokes in rowing! In Level 1 you become part of a crew of eight, led by your coach and your coxswain. Level 1 introduces you to the fundamentals of our sport through the rowing discipline of sweeping, where everyone uses one oar. Four-week sessions are offered from April to September.
ADULT LEVEL 2
INTRODUCTION TO SCULLING
(PREREQUISITE: LEVEL 1)
Your rowing journey continues. In Level 2 you are part of a crew of four rowing in a quad with your coach guiding you. Here you're introduced to the rowing discipline of sculling, where everyone uses two oars. Four-week sessions are offered from May to October.
PARA and PARALYMPIC
The Vancouver Rowing Club is committed to enabling all persons to actively participate in our sport. Our Para Rowing Program introduces and involves people living with physical disabilities, and operates alongside our Learn-to-Row and Member Programs.
JUNIOR (AGES 12 - 18)
What can rowing mean to young people? Whether learning to row leads to rowing opportunities at university, a seat in an Olympic crew, or a lifelong appreciation of the sport, the Vancouver Rowing Club is the place to start! Our popular Junior Camps are offered in July and August.
CORPORATE
Let rowing be a teambuilding activity that gets your organization moving together - literally! These experiences are offered May to September.
