Membership at the Vancouver Rowing Club Yachting Section Application for section membership requires two current member recommendations. Recommending members must have a minimum of one-year seniority. Applications can be picked up from the office and when submitted, must accompany the recommendation letters and fee and assessment payment in full. Partial applications will not be accepted. Applications are then sent to the 1. Membership Officer who will contact you for an informal interview. 2. Publicity Officer for publication in the monthly newsletter. 3. Yachting Executive Committee for ratification. The process will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks depending when you apply. FAQs? How do I meet a member? Ø Come down to a “Wings Wednesday” ot "Dart Night on Tuesdays". There are usually quite a few Yachting members who frequent these events. Ø Join in one of our cruises (see the next event page for more information). Ø Come down to a pub night and join in on our educational seminar offered that evening. Ø What is expected from me as a member? Ø The VRC Yachting Section events and programs are organized 100% by volunteers. On your application you will have an opportunity to expound on your special talent. The main theme is “get involved”. Ø Volunteering as an executive member is an excellent way to get to now the club, the section and of course to lend a hand. Ø Members are required to adhere to the policies and procedures set out in the VRC Club Constitution and Bylaws, VRC House Rules and the VRC Yachting Section constitution and Bylaws.
