Jason Cameron, Recreation Program Head Coach

Having rowed competitively since 1997, Jason began a three-year term as the club's Rowing Coordinator in 1999. In his role as Coordinator, he began his coaching career with Learn.To.Row, private lessons, and Junior summer camps. Jason continued to row competitively and coach Learn.To.Row until 2004 when the Recreational Program began. He has been the Recreational Program coach since the program's inception and has served on the club's Executive Committee as Rowing BC Representative.

Maksym Kepskyy, Under 18 Junior Program Coach

Maksym comes to VRC from the Ukraine where in 2004 he graduated from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine with a specialist in 'Olympic and Professional Sports.' Maksym is completing his Master's degree at UBC, rows with the UBC crew, and works as a personal trainer in Vancouver.

Andrew Ling, Sunday Masters Program Head Coach

While a competitive rower in high school, Andrew quickly found his talent and passion for coaching. He began coaching in 1998 while still in high school and moved onto Masters and University rowers at Thunderbird Rowing Centre and VRC. He coached VRC Juniors from 2000 to 2004 and again in 2006 and in 2004, he began coaching the VRC Sunday Masters crews. His crews have enjoyed working with Andrew’s technical approach which has allowed them to achieve and surpass their personal goals. Andrew has been an active member of VRC membership, sitting on the Executive Committee in the roles of Equipment Manager in 2003/04 and Safety Officer in 2004/05.

Richard McDaniel, Novice Program Coach

Richard has been rowing as a Masters athlete at VRC since 1985 and a coach of the Novice program since 1996. Coming from a competitive running and team sport background he is a believer in being able to offer a competitive rowing environment together with an enjoyable social atmosphere at the same time. Richard's long dedication to the sport of rowing and the Vancouver Rowing Club granted him the distinction of having one of our doubles named in his honour.

Jennifer Reid, Novice Program Coach

Jennifer started rowing seven years ago as a master rower and began working with the VRC Novice program in 2004. She has a background in education and is currently completing her Level 2 certification for the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program). Jennifer is currently working on her MA in Leadership through Royal Roads University.
