Designed for first year rowers who have completed Learn-to-Row Levels 1 & 2, the Novice program opens rowers to participating in a competitive environment as a member of the Vancouver Rowing Club. The program begins late summer each year and runs for one year. Our goal is to produce well-rounded rowers, with both sweeping and sculling skills, leading towards competitive racing. The racing seasons consist of rowing sweep 4's and 8's in head races from September to November, then both sweep and sculling sprint races in the spring and summer. We take a limited number of rowers from September through December from the Recreation and Learn-to-Row program, as space permits. As a novice rower, you are required to join VRC as a rowing member. If you are interested in placing your name on our waiting list, please contact the VRC Rowing Coordinator at row@vancouverrowingclub.ca or (604) 687-3414. If you would like more information about the program, please contact the coaches or visit us on the dock during our practice times. Practice Times
